When I completed the review in early January one the problems highlighted by the exercise was the fact that I am concentrating more on the selection of companies and not enough on the management of the portfolios. It is time to apply a Focus Investment style to the way I manage Chuffy. I do not intend to merge or change the remits of any of the portfolios but to put more effort into creating a coherent strategy.

Due to the diverse nature of the portfolios that make up Chuffy I will have to employ different strategies for each one, but the overall strategy will remain at the Chuffy level.

Main Guidelines

There will be no weightings between the portfolios.
No duplication of holdings.
Maximum use of tax breaks.
Concentration of resources on "performing" investments.
External management costs to be kept to a minimum.
